You are not a resident of Tunisia and wish to enter with your car or motorcycle? Here are the formalities to know.
If you enter Tunisia with a vehicle with an engine capacity greater than 49 cm³, a circulation permit calledDiptyque, valid3 monthsis issued by Customs at the border.
This permit is renewable three times consecutively, with payment of the road tax (vignette) upon the first renewal. Upon expiry of its validity, the vehicle must be re-exported.
Extension and registration
Upon your arrival, the import office will issue you a 3-month circulation authorization and affiliate you with the regional customs office of your choice — generally the one nearest to your residence.
During the first extension, Customs assigns an registration number in the special series "under customs". The vehicle must be equipped with two plates bearing this number, to be returned to the exit office upon re-exportation.
