Temporary admission

The importer must prove a stay abroad of at least one year before the importation date, without the total duration of their stays in Tunisia during this period exceeding 183 days.For the importation of the vehicle, the interested party must prove their ownership status (vehicle registration document or purchase contract).For vehicles not owned by the importer: power of attorney signed by the owner with legalized signature.

Circulation authorization valid for 3 months issued at entry by the import office.Attachment to a regional customs office (of choice, generally the one nearest to the residence) which handles extensions.Second extension of 3 months after payment of the road tax (vignette), upon reasoned request.3rd and 4th extensions of 3 months upon reasoned request.During the 1st extension: new circulation authorization and "under customs" registration number (two plates to be returned upon re-exportation).Exceptional cases: monthly extensions with the regional directorate, up to a limit of 12 months, upon supporting documents and payment of fees.

The importer may not leave the territory until regularization, according to one of the following methods:Re-exportationPlacing under the real warehouse regime with guarantee of costs;Release for consumption with payment of duties and taxes (provisional return);Release for consumption under the definitive return regime;Abandon of the vehicle to customs (exceptional cases, following agreement from the Directorate General of Customs).
