No one may practice the profession of customs agent, nor obtain personal accreditation as a customs declarant, if they have not been recognized as technically competent and passed the professional examination for customs agents.
Every candidate must hold a master's degree in law, legal sciences, economic sciences, management or an equivalent diploma.
The two exams
Written theoretical test
Questions relating to the application of customs legislation and regulations, as well as the laws and rules that the Customs administration is responsible for applying (movement, custody, clearance of goods).Tariff classification questions: classifying goods in the nomenclature.Marking: 0 to 20 — Coefficient: 3 — Duration: 3 hours.
Written practical test
Establishment, according to the manual procedure, of different types of customs declarations (detailed declaration under certain customs regimes), based in particular on commercial and transport documents (arrival notice, goods to be delivered note, invoices...).
